A versatile AI reception robot for customer service and visitor guidance

Alpha Robotics TIMO is an autonomous reception robot and AI service robot designed to support front-desk and customer-facing teams. It can detect approaching visitors, deliver customised welcome messages, answer business-related questions and guide guests to predefined locations. Voice dialogue, company information and knowledge bases can be customised, allowing TIMO to communicate according to the needs of a specific hotel, office, showroom or retail environment.

The customer service robot features a 13.3-inch HD touchscreen for videos, promotions, product information, maps and other interactive content. TIMO also supports face recognition, mobile advertising and security patrol functions, making it useful beyond a traditional reception desk. Its Android-based system and six degrees of freedom provide a flexible platform for different visitor-service scenarios.

For autonomous movement, TIMO uses laser navigation and multi-sensor obstacle avoidance to map indoor spaces, detect changes around it and guide visitors safely to their destination. With up to 8 hours of operation, automatic charging and a compact 460 × 460 mm footprint, this robot receptionist can support hotels, offices, hospitals, exhibitions, airports, schools and other public-facing facilities throughout the working day.

Can TIMO guide visitors to a specific location?

Yes. TIMO can create an indoor map and autonomously lead visitors to predefined destinations after a voice interaction or selected request. Laser navigation and obstacle avoidance help it adjust its route as the environment changes.

Does TIMO return to charge automatically?

Yes. TIMO supports automatic charging. The current Alpha Robotics specification lists a battery life of up to 8 hours and an approximate charging time of 3–4 hours.
